I want to buy a vacation home near water. We would spend some weekends and parts of the summer there. i don't think we would rent it out, but that could be an option. Is it financially smarter to just rent places for random weeks every year? I thought owning a home was always better because of the equity you build up but now I'm rethinking.

Found a house I love, but looking at the history, it was sold in 2020, 2022, and 2024. How do i know if it is just a coincidence (like people relocating), or is there likely a hidden nightmare with the house or the neighbors that makes everyone want to leave immediately? How do I find out the truth?

We found a great house, but the sellers want a 'post-settlement occupancy agreement' because their new build isn't ready. Is this a huge liability risk? What happens if they refuse to leave or break something while they're renting my house? Should I backout?

We have an offer on a house, but the seller is being weird. We're worried that they're going to back out of the deal. We're only a couple weeks from closing. We've sold our current house, packed, and have put deposits down for the move. But we have some serious concerns about the seller. So, can the seller still back out?

I'm a 1099 contractor and my tax payments vary. I owe the government money for my taxes and I'm paying in installments. All of it is legal and I'm not doing anything wrong. I have a decent downpayment saved. But I'm wondering if I can get a loan if I owe taxes?
