About Christopher Lankhorst
Born and raised in Western Michigan, Chris Lankhorst earned a degree from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Sociology and General Business Administration. Soon after graduation, Chris moved to Denver, Colorado for a career in the medical sales field. Craving to live the life he always dreamed in the mountains of Colorado, Chris and his wife, Christy, relocated to Summit County in 1999. Chris enjoys fly fishing, skiing, golfing and biking and would be happy to show you his favorite river, ski run, golf course or trail.
Chris started his real estate career with Playground Destination Properties, an Intrawest Company, at Keystone Resort in 1999 as a Sales Assistant. Quickly after his start, he continued with Playground Destination Properties as a Sales Operations Manager for Keystone and then Veranda at Turks & Caicos Islands, BWI. Following Sales Operations Chris joined the Copper Mountain Real Estate team as a Sales Specialist, and continued on to sell other resort properties at Winter Park & Snowmass, CO, Napa Valley, CA and Sun Valley, ID as Sales Team Manager.
Chris has returned home and has come full circle to join Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate at Keystone Resort as the Branch Broker. His knowledge and love of Summit County, and that of the resort real estate industry as a whole, make him a great asset to have on your side.

If you're planning to buy within the next year, I'd honestly start talking to an agent now, but just keep it casual. This stage is really about getting a feel for the market, what your budget actually gets you, and making sure your financing is lined up. Also, make sure that you find a real estate professional you like and trust! Over the next few months, you'll naturally get clearer on what you want and what's realistic. Then as you get closer, say 3"6 months out, you can start looking more seriously and be ready to move when the right place pops up. The biggest thing is just not waiting until the last minute and trying to figure it all out at once. Starting early makes the whole process a lot smoother.
