Can seller back out in 3 days after accepted an offer?

My daughter did a counter offer this morning less than listing price. And she decided not to sell now bc she has a baby so can she back out even there’s no contract yet ? Is it seller back out within @3 days after accepted an offer?

There can be ways. Have your daughter contact her agent and discuss what is practical and allowable in your state. It may mean that she will have to compensate the Buyer and her Agent in some way for the change of mind.

Once both parties have signed and agreed to the terms, it becomes a bi-lateral binding contract. A seller can request to cancel, but it can’t be done unilaterally without potential legal or contractual consequences. Usually not, once the counter offer is accepted by the buyer and you have an executed contract, the seller is locked in. The buyers may be willing to release the sellers of her obligation, but it can be a difficult process. As the other agent recommended contact her agent.
